Posing with director David Victori, Michael Fassbender attended the Venice Film Festival today (September 3).

The "Shame" star was there to introduce the director, who won YouTube's first ever Your Film Festival Award for his film, "The Guilt."

YouTube viewers chose the ten finalists, who traveled to Venice for the final selection, after viewing the films on the social media site. The submissions could be no longer than 15 minutes in length.

Winning the award, selected by a jury including Ridley Scott and Fassbender, means a $500,000 grant for his next project and the two Hollywood icons attached as executive producers.

The 35-year-old actor called the film, "very mature and confident." He continued, "I was engaged from the top of the film." The winning director said he already presented his next move to the two.
